Formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue is one of the most widely practiced methods for clinical sample preservation and archiving. While standard for histopathology and microscopic investigation, FFPE samples pose a major challenge for molecular pathologists because nucleic acids are heavily modified and trapped by extensive protein-nucleic acid and protein-protein cross linking. Due to the valuable nature of the FFPE samples, it is paramount that an extraction protocol yields high recovery of DNA/RNA, while also to avoid extensive degradation so that it is amenable for further analysis.
As one of the leading manufacturers for FFPE DNA and RNA extraction kits, we have a complete line of tools for extracting FFPE samples. Validated by numerous third-party laboratories, our kit-based chemistry typically recovers 2-3x more DNA/RNA than the competitor kits.
